The Battle against the Abyss was fought inside the Nyxian Gap. The battle was the bloodiest of the Nyxian Gap Arc and took place in a asteroid dense area. The Allidus Alliance attacked the Larkinson Clan using a fleet of warships and an army of several thousands of mechs. Using the advantage provided by the pirate heavy cruiser, the Gravada Knarlax, Lord Hivex planned to bombard the Task Force Predator from afar. The pirates hoped that the Larkinsons would suffer catastrophic losses at little cost to the pirates.
The Task Force Predator deliberately navigated to a region in Meynard Fields that was particularly dense with asteroids. The pirate armada accepted the invitation and used the Gravada Knarlax to destroy the asteroid blockade. Ves Larkinson ordered no retreat and the fleet charged the pirate armada, despite this exposing the Larkinson fleet to the Knarlax artillery-fire. The Larkinson offensive suffered constant bombardment from The Knarlax and laser bombardment from the Judgement Laser installed on the escort warships. At close range, the Larkinsons faced the secondary gun batteries installed on the pirate vessels and the entrenched army of over eight thousand mechs causing many casualties among the Larkinsons.
Losing the conventional warfare, Ves Larkinson employed unconventional means against the pirates, which include the use of gems filled with chaos essence, the use of spiritual battle formation, the breakthrough of 4 experts and 15 expert candidates and the use of 3 spirits. In return, the Hallowed Abyss Temple summoned 3 Dark Gods, which descended in person on the battlefield.
As the Larkinsons were facing defeat, Cynthia and Ryncol Larkinson joined the battlefield. The pirates were defeated as Cynthia triumphed over the Undending One.
